Magnavox 50" Plasma TV Model : 50MF231D/37 Serial : Y41B0631022817
I had a problem with it 2 weeks ago when I turn it on it clicked on green light first then the red light would flash 4 times. Called magnavox they said update the software, did that and then it fixed it for 2 days. Now when I turn it on it clicks and the green light stays on but no picture or sound, there is a double click when the picture should come on, checked on the magnavox website and they said to unplug and wait 10 seconds, plug it back in. the first 10 times that worked,when it does come on there is no double click the set just comes on, now it takes 10 - 15 times of unplugging and replugging to make the sound first then the picture flashes and then about 2seconds later the picture comes on. after it is on for a while it will turn off and on OK but after it sets over 2-3 hours it will have to be unplugged and replugged to make it come on. I am afraid one day this will not work as it takes more times of plugging as time goes by. Can anyone please help?? Football season is on and I hate to miss the games, lol. Thanks in advance for any help.

I haven't worked on a lot of these, but it sounds to me you may have some bad caps or some bad solder joints.

I have the same tv, model number,etc everything tried loading their online firmware nothing, called them they wont help but they do know they have a problem ,, i google it and i found hundreds of people with the samething ( no solutions though) but these people are trying to start a class action lawsuit . Magnaox knows theres a problem but wont help .
The people on the google site says it cost over 400.00 bucks to fix wow. If you have a solution will you please contact me back

went to the complaints board and poof alot of the info in gone hummmmm! also found out alot of info on fixya .com about MAGNAVOX 50"PLASMA TV solutions aplenty so check it out
also go to youtube great vids everything you need to know ,, i had trouble finding the 3300uf 16v caps looked every where in my little town . found them online ,,,,,,GOT THE IMPRESSION THE REPAIR PEOPLE DIDNT WANT TO DEAL WITH IT/ME WASNT ENOUGH GREEN IN IT FOR THEM GOOD LUCK also if anyone going to file a class action please let me know iam in
