Hi there...smile....

1st , I need to make a suggestion to the forum gods here...
How about a new forum heading for DTV problems??
With the changeover going on , I'm sure there are plenty of people haveing trouble with the conversion & reception...
MYSELF included...
I KNOW I'm NOT in the right thread to post this , but I could not find an appropiate thread to post it in...Sorry...Here goes:...

I have 2 analog TV's with DTV converter boxes...
I have a reception problem...
I'm useing non-amplified indoor rabbit ears that worked just fine with analog broadcasts...
Along comes DTV & they don't work so well...
I suspect that the new channels are broadcasting at a lower power level... I heard rumors that they would boost power after Jun,12,09...
It's been 6 days now & no such luck...
I live in the Las Vegas valley area...
The TV stations transmitting antennas are close together on a series of mountains about 20 miles from my home...
Some of my channels pixelate...
Sometimes I do not get them at all...
What I need is a GOOD quality indoor antenna with good enough gain to give me a non-pixelated pix...
My next door neighbor bought one of those weird looking Philips DTV amplified indoor antennas (For about $40.00 USD) & is haveing the same problem.. I'm willing to spend the same amount...
The problem I'm haveing is:
WHAT IS a GOOD AMPLIFIED DTV indoor antenna??...
WHO makes a GOOD one ??....Reasonably priced ??
I've "Googled" it & am lost when it comes to picking a GOOD one...Weird shapes , DB's , etc...
I've been out of the TV bussiness about 2 years now & DTV goes WOoosh right over the top of my head...
I'm hopeing that we have an "antenna expert" here at this forum that could guide me to a decent antenna....
Someone who can tell me what to look for in the way of specific performance stats (esp. DB gain) for a residence about 20 miles away from the transmitting antenna...
Perhaps even Model # , Brand, etc....
Something around the $40.00 USD range....
I know that this is a parts thread , so in a way I'm in the right place...

THANK you VERY much for your anticipated help...grin.......
